Igor Tarantul was born in Russia in 1954.Upon finishing the school in 1971 he was apprenticed to his father, Itzchak Tarantul,who is also a master engraver.Igor has over 35 years of experience in engraving art. In 1993 he immigrated to Israel and started his own business in 1994. Most of his work is based on hand engraving techniques, such as relief , three dimensional engraving and gold casting (inlay). Igor uses both traditional and modern methods of engraving . Each piece of his work is always unique because it's engraved by hand using individual designs and layouts. Igor engraves on a full time basis at his studio in Tel aviv.

Engraving is the personalizing of an object with decoration inspired from ideas and good taste, using engraver's hands and talent.It's a form of art that essentially adds beauty and personalization to an ordinary objects.For centuries mankind has had a desire to add personality and character to reflect individuality onto things which he held in high esteem. Igor's engravings are cut by hand under a Leica microscope. The layout and designs of the engravings are first drawn with pencil and then cut under the microscope. 24k gold is used for inlays. The artist-engraver Igor Tarantul produced many artistic carving Kiddush cups and other judaica items.His artworks are in private collections worldwide.He is also involved in jewellery production and knife engraving.
